Operating principle

Centrifugal blowers increase the pressure of the intake air through a series of swirling motions created by the centrifugal movement of the turbine. As the turbine rotates, internal channels propel the air forward in a centrifugal motion, thus creating a helical movement.

During this movement, the air is constantly compressed along the channel, increasing the pressure linearly. The compressed air is then routed from the blower outlet to the application. Usage recommendations

Auxiliary equipment: The presence of safety valves or a system protecting the transfer prolongs the life of the blower by preventing blockages at the suction and pressure points.

Rotation direction: Do not use the blowers in the opposite direction to the motor's rotation. Fans rotating in reverse have a shorter lifespan because the air at the outlet is not properly drawn in.

Monobloc models offer cost-effective solutions for flow rates from 40 to 1,370 m³/h and pressures from 0 to 460 mbar; they are suitable for general conveying, drying, and ventilation applications. Split models, requiring higher pressures (from 88 to 2,500 m³/h) and operating at pressures from 0 to 670 mbar, offer advantages for applications where vacuum and pressure are critical. They also ensure more stable performance in high-loss processes due to long pipe runs or narrow filters.

The first step is to determine the required airflow and the pressure or vacuum level that the piping must maintain. The diameter and length of the piping, the filter, and the equipment's pressure losses must also be considered. Ambient and process air temperatures, operating mode (pressure or vacuum), supply voltage, and installation orientation (horizontal or vertical) are essential parameters. This data allows for the selection of the appropriate single- or two-stage model and the required motor power.

Installing a suitable micron filter on the intake side prevents wear on the fan; safety devices are recommended to prevent blockages and duct closures. The fan should not operate in reverse, and with flexible expansion joints and proper alignment, vibrations are not transmitted to the building structure.
